The previous weekend brought our local road racing calendar to a close with the ABR Fall Fling series, presented by Athletes by Design. You can view complete race results here. This event series provides such an excellent way to close out the competitive calendar. The race routes offer plenty of open road with safe conditions, and riders always face a good helping of challenging headwinds. The field quality remains strong, and the distinctive "winner takes all" team competition format adds tremendous excitement (particularly if your squad happens to be Tower Racing!). The team rivalry dimension creates outstanding race dynamics that would enhance other events throughout the entire season. We're seriously considering developing a Chicagoland Team Championship series for the upcoming year—stay tuned for additional details!
As we approach the off-season, Pat and I want to express our appreciation to everyone who continues visiting the site regularly. Taking over from Luke's exceptional race reporting has been quite the challenge to live up to. Our primary objective this season was stabilizing operations, developing our event coverage skills, and formulating ideas to strengthen the competitive cycling scene. We've certainly absorbed valuable lessons and recognize areas requiring improvement! The off-season will give us dedicated time to enhance the platform, with several exciting new capabilities planned for the 2026 racing calendar.
Though the road race season has concluded, we'll maintain regular article publication, potentially branching into compelling off-season topics. We welcome your continued contributions of news updates, upcoming events, and community happenings throughout the winter months.
